Change Cutterhead
The new quick change
cutterhead for Model 180 Planer increases productivity by greatly reducing
costly down time. This new cutterhead design is precision manufactured to
allow the knives to be replaced accurately in minutes! Once the knives are
in place, adjustments to the infeed and outfeed rollers, the chip breaker,
and the pressure bar are not necessary.
To extend the life of
the knives, they have two cutting edges. The knives are also impregnated
with 18% Tungsten which has proven to increase the life by up to 30%.
Reports indicate that 40-60,000 lineal feet per edge is obtainable when
planing hardwoods. The design also significantly reduces the noise level of
the planer.
